How are you? Hope everyone is in good health and conditions.
Since 2018, I’ve started my journey as minimalist. Now, at the end of 2025, I’m heading to back to a basic lifestyle, reducing expenses and living an optimum lifestyle.
I try to make something useful from every container, box, bottle and reuse it for other purposes. One of it was eggs container which I feel is very useful and filled my needs.
Living in a small home in town, had opened my eyes to cut some expenses, and I started from my groceries.
Making a seedling pot from eggs container 🪴
1. Cut into 2 for the normal eggs container and put the cover under the eggs container as per in the photo.2. Make a little hole on each of the bottom for the eggs container as per in the photo above. You can cut a little bit with a scissor/blade and use pencil/chopstick to make a small round hole.3. Put 2/3 of mixed soil into the container like this and put each of the containers with seeds, onions, and ginger (whatever you want). I’m using chilli, tomato, ginger, and garlic as these are normally I use for cooking.4. Then, cover the rest of the container with the same mixed soil and water it.5. This photo is after 5 days I’m watering it. As for now, I can see garlic and tomato started sprouting from the seeds. Can’t wait to see the rest soon 🥰❤️
If you have a landed property, it will be awesome for this activity. Please pray for me to have landed property soon, so I can make more diy project to recycle things I have at my home. 😇
It has a variety of meanings for many people. But for me, money is just a tool to satisfy our needs and wants. My retirement goal is to stay away as far as I can from something that required money. You need to ask yourself, what money can satisfy your needs and wants? To me, my need is food. I don’t buy much clothes. I don’t buy much shoes, or bags. It’s foods, water bill, electricity bills, internet bills and a house I can call a home.
I want to retire earlier than compulsory age. I want to have a living where I don’t need to worry about bills, mortgages, and foods. my focus for retirement is to go back to basic life and needs. I want to be away from massive traffic jammed. I want to be away from toxic circle friends and families. I just want to be alive and enjoying each my day n seconds, glorifying life surrounding me. I had enough of this fake world and getting back to real purpose or living.
I set my target, to retire in the next 10 years, insya Allah.
Wow, it’s been 10 months since I updated my blog due to workload and stress. Finally, I’m freedom from Corporate World! haha, temporarily 😃
I was thinking, due to economy not stable etc, our daily expensive increase significantly lately. I know I need to do some side income, because daily life these days becoming soo expensive. I’m still survive, because of my minimalist living. But I want more than enough so that I can help those who need it, especially my families.
I’ve seen in front of my eyes how people who used to have millions in their account on surviving mode now. In my country, Malaysia, most people are working in Corporate Company, having EPF (Employees Provident Fund) saved monthly with free contributions from employer, monthly. But, I saw when they reached 55 years old and finished their saving money even before they reached 60. It’s stipulated in my mind that I still need to work even though I reached a mature age of 55 years old to take out my money.
Here is the thing on what usually happened, when someone reached 55 years old, most scammer can “smell” the new money. So, mostly people will fall for scammers. Well, I don’t wanna be such. I wanna build my own business right now, so by 55 years old, it can run itself with minimal supervision.
If you wanna get into business in Malaysia, you need to register SSM (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia) and choose an appropriate type of business. Well, it was not a smooth process for me, but eventually I managed to get my SSM certificate. Yay!!
So, here we go, bismillah to start my business.
pssstt, well, I had eventually finished renovating my new home. Will share in the next blog on my new renovated home and share some tips on how to manage new house renovation from the beginning. 🥰
I think it’s not too late yet to wish ALL of you, A Happy New Year!!!!
This year is a huge year for me as I’d accomplished most of the things that I want in my life. Wee!! 🥳
It’s been 7 years since I was becoming a minimalist. Below are things I had achieved throughout my journey 🥰
Things I’ve achieved by being a minimalist for 7 years:
More space for my home: I have sold and donated a lot of my things such as dresses, aquariums, exercise tools, etc. I just recently shifted to my a new home which already has a gym downstairs. So I won’t need boxing glove, boxing wraps, boxing knee pads, barbell etc.
More savings for mental happiness: When I stop buying clutters, I have some enough money to go to spas, hotels, and resorts. Recently there are a lot of websites which you ca have a cheaper price for entrance, hotel rooms, theme parks. Mental health is as important as physical health too. By being a minimalist, I’m morefocusedg on balancing both my physical and mental health.
Career goal achieved: This is not easy things to have, but I combined with my faith that to achieve a good environment, good colleagues and bosses and achieving my desire salary. I’m successfully balancing both desire salary with good environment by end of 2024. Alhamdulillah, praise to God. 🤲
More savings for other property: Well, I have 2 properties now. One of it I rent it out, and another one I’m staying with right now. initially, I didn’t plan to have 2 properties. Luckily, support by our government before, in the year 2021, I managed to get another one property. I was thinking this as backup retirement plan when the retirement money finished, so I have property to rent it out. It’s not easy if you need to repair on structure such leaking pipe, leaking bathroom etc. I’m trying to get rid of one property, but unfortunately, I’m still not success. So, I just rent it and be my backup plan. It’s not urgent to sell too, so I just keep the 1st property as a backup plan.
More savings for additional retirement plan : Yes, I’m buying another insurance just cover the remaining years, coz for the 1st propert, my loan was for 35 years, however the insurance only cover for 30 years. The second property loan was 35 years, and insurance just cover for 20 years. There is a huge gap and I just buy 1 insurance to cover the missed gap 😃. Other than this, I’m having another insurance which is the maturity age of 70 years old. I still thinking the best way for retirement plan other than the KWSP funds. I don’t think KWSP is enough for a retirement plan due to high raise inflation.
Focusing on retirement plan: Other than mandatory fund KWSP, I wanna diverse more funds for retirement savings. I have seen, most retirees will go broke after 10 years of retirement. The savings need to beat the high inflation to these days’ economy.
In term of financial, currently, I’m still recovering from renovation my house and insya Allah in the next 1 or 1.5 years,I will recover my finances fully and have a positive cashflow with cash in my hands.
I will share in the next post regarding how I manage my home renovation without being broke. hahaha!! It might be helpful for those in the mid of renovation your houses. Took me several months to plan out my renovation and being a main contractor to my own house.
Alhamdulillah, praise to Allah SWT that I finally settled down with the new home. Syukran.
Hello, everyone!! It’s quite some time I’m away as I’m busy with job and housing stuff.
Phew, finally, I managed to settle down and shifted some of my stuff over to the new house.
It requires a lot of planning and efforts. Thank you to those who always support me behind my back. Without all of you, I won’t be able to do it by myself alone.
Check this out the bare unit, yet to complete. Insya Allah will be completed by end of December 2024 🥰
The Entrance of the houseLiving RoomBalcony, yes, it’s the French Balcony. 😂 Ideally, I don’t have Balcony, just sliding doors 😝View from Living Room, for kitchen and entrance. Kitchen is too small, I did hack n levelling the yard to make it look bigger. 🤪Okay, the idea of this house is dual key, but as I will stay here so I will make a laundry room for this space. 🥰So many defects, it took around 3 months to finished all the major defects. This is the masterbedroom toilet.MasterbedroomMiddle roomSmall room.
That’s all for now, I will report the after renovation when everything completed.
Okay, guys. Check these out photos for SeaVerse Cafe & Retaurant. It has an entrance fee about 30baht during July 2024, per person.
Personally, It’s a must place to visit. It’s actually a restaurant, but I don’t eat here. Just enjoying the view 😃
Entrance fee on July 2024 was 30baht per person. The view is unique, I can say it’s instagramble viewIt’s was nice view, if there is an activity can ride the boat will be awesome. I love the building structure Some artAnother artThere is tall tower with stares and can get the overall view of the restaurant. It was scenic view 🥰View on top of the tower 😍Cheers!! 😁It’s breathtaking view 😍🥰❤️There is a restaurant, you can enjoy it but I got no time to spend for the restaurant. If I go alone or with family, I definitely will try it. These are soaps..about 5 bath each.I amazed the building. It’s from bamboo and very creative. The building wall.Very unique and beautiful structure ❤️🥰Haha!!! These are toilet..the fish is for male, and mermaid for female. haha unique and cute.
Let’s check these out some photos I managed to capture during my Hatyai trip 😍
So, we stayed at Crystal Hotel, Hatyai. The hotel has swimming pool, however we don’t have much time to swim coz our trip is very short n compact. Haha.
We paid almost around RM 200 for 2nights each and the room can fix for 2pax. Overall cost about RM 400 for 2nights in July 2024.
The hotel room, comes with breakfastLevel 7Our room at 7th floorThe room is really clean and comfortable. It’s modern designed with transparent bathroom wall 😂 Sexy Bathroom. hahaha 😂Tada!! It comes with tub, my roommate did bathing but I don’t. The transparent wall got curtain, so if u wanna feel sexy, u can take off the curtain. muahahaha, but we don’t. Of course . LOL Got TV, but in Thailand dubbed. We couldn’t understand, so we just switch it off. LOL Comfortable enough…I wish can spend more time in the hotel. Spacious bed..I think it’s King Size bed. Comfortable bedding and had a wonderful rest. 🥰 Okay, all of our rooms come with breakfast. There is a story behind this breakfast hall. Me and my roommate are early that day, so we ask the guard where is the breakfast and he said at level 2. So, we went there but it’s a dark hall. We went downstairs back and asked again, then the guard just smilling and said it’s on 3rd floor 😶🌫️ It’s really creepy on the 2nd floor. So as u came from the lift, you can see this Birmingham hall. Just tell the receptionist your room number and enjoy the food.
So here are the foods I took. It’s a plenty variation of foods, I forgot to take each of it coz super hungry.
Idk what’s the praw is, but really tasty. Others are “Kerabu Mangga” and Chicken curry. These are their traditional desserts. Idk the name..but taste like red bean inside with jelly outside. I don’t really like it. The Star look is “Cakoi”, it’s nice and dip with condensed milk. with jelly pudding. The dimsum is nice, I love it and I love the coffee machine!!!!! Tasty 🤤On the 2nd day of breakfast, I took this. Not so bad. They had unusual coffee and tea…Teafe , Choco Tea, Thai Milk Tea and Lungo Black coffee 😃😃😃 Whats is that? I just try Thai Milk Tea..
Okay, see you in next post for other location I went to Hatyai..❤️
Olaa!!! Como estás? How are you, guys? Hope you are in a good health!!
Last month I went for a short vacay to Hatyai, Thailand. It’s food heaven 😍 Thinking to repeat it again.
Check these out 😃
So… I went alone to Hatyai. I booked a return ticket via online and just trust the flow 😂 Parked my car at TBS (Terminal Bus Station), I think around RM10 per day. The journey was about 7 hours, starts around 10pm, and arrived at the Malaysia border around 6am (KL 7pm)It was a long queue due to Malaysia public holiday, so a lot of Malaysian are going to Thailand for vacation. So, I passed and stamped twice, once at the Malaysia immigrant to check out from the country, and 2nd one was for Thailand immigrant for entrance. You really need to queue twice for the stamping purpose 😃So, I’m meeting my colleague at the Duty Free Zone building, which was located between the Malaysia and Thailand Immigrant station. So as I am done with the Malaysia Immigrant, I walked about 5-10 minutes to Duty Free Zone waiting for my other colleague and our transport Van)Duty Free Zone is located between Malaysia Immigrant station and Thailand Immigrant stationSo, our entrance is Songkla after done with all stamping 😀. Finally 🥰We had our breakfast at the nearby shop. It’s “Roti pisang”. Something like banana crepe with condensed milk. With Ice Tea“Roti Pisang” aka Banana Crepe!! Delicious, eat with condensed milk ❤️She is making the Banana Crepe. Just look around nearby building, I think it’s Fire Station. Not sure what is that, but look so cute. haha!! Banananaananana 🍌So the 1st place we went is Kaysorn Souvenir. To me, it’s not really that cheap. Just normal price. So I don’t buy much here, just few items n chill while drink the Thai Green Tea blended.hurrmmmm…not so nice. I think was about 60baht. not so cheap too. nahh 🙃Okay they have some other stall but I didnt try.The building is nice, I’m just chilling and enjoying the ambiance 😃
Okay, I just wanna share the best healing spot in Ulu Langat that I went 2 weeks ago.
So, my brain is piled up with a lot of workload and it’s time to release it. Me and my colleague, we decided to go to waterfall and having lunch at nearby restaurant. The restaurant name is Terra Pong Restaurant which indirectly means, Floating Restaurant. The food is Thai Muslim food, very delicious and you are required to book the place at least 24hours before arrival. I’m kind like how the way they manage the order, you book through their website food you want to order then you gotta pay 50% from the total amount, and pay another 50% when u finish eating at the restaurant. It’s been before pandemic that I want to come, and let’s check it out.
So, the building is basically a traditional art, not really sure from Malaysia or Thailand itself. There are huge parking lot, accommodate prayer room for muslim (Surau) and washroom. Let’s check it out!!
We came too early that the waterfall gate is close and need to wait like 20 minutes before the guy came. It cost RM2 per person, and parking so far its free. We paid at the entrance and walk inside the forest. When u walk in, there is some animal statue, these are the local animals that usually can be found in our forest. The entrance point where the track begin. Okay, if you want to go healing with a lot of stuff, I don’t recommend this place as It has a lot of steps. If you wanna come, it’s better to have a backpack style. easier for you to climb up the stepsAfter we hike about 10minutes, this is the 1st waterfall, and if there are more waterfall up there, but we just hike as long as we can see the waterfall. 😃 exhausted lolI brought my own milk tea “Teh Tarik” and feel gorgeous 😍 We ate “Nasi Lemak” and some “Kuih” I bought near to my home. We just bring ready made food just buy from nearby stall coz only me and 1 of my colleague. Oh!! btw, there are fishes in the water and we feed with our “Kuih”. I didn’t manage to get photo coz my phone was in my beg and too lazy to take it out. lol
After about 4 hours of spending time chit chat, bathe and eating, then we go to the restaurant we book a day before. Warning!!! You really need to book a day before, if not they won’t entertain you, or your food will arrive very late.
So it took 24 minutes from the waterfall to the restaurant. Oh! btw, the route is not easy access as you will require transport like renting a car and driving a village route.
24 minutes drive the village route by car
The restaurant is very near to the junction, so be careful when u want to enter the parking area. I missed the restaurant and make a U-turn at the nearby shops 😃
The entrance and restaurant nameWhen you enter, the washroom and prayer room (Surau) was on your right. This is the hallway to washroom and prayer room (Surau)Okay, so here is the washroom and place to take ablutionThe “Surau” entranceInside the “Surau”. When I enter, I feel like I’m in 80s Era 😃 remind me of my grandparents’ house I think this is smoking area..because it’s away from the restaurant.Shoe rack, but nobody put their shoe on it including me 😃This hallway is from the washroom n “Surau” to the restaurant eating areaOur reserved table 🥰 When u enter the restaurant, just go to the cashier and tell them your reservation nameTo get the food, you just ask the receptionist at the payment counter to serve you. I ordered “Ikan masak 3 rasa” with Thai Tomyam and Kailan Vegie “Sayur Kailan ikan masin”. The food is marvelous. I ordered mocha ice and my colleague ordered Ice lemon tea. I think it will be very nice if they serve dessert, but when I look into the menu, couldn’t find it.this is kinda like stage, I think those who want to accommodate wedding ceremony, can do it here.Beautiful right, so the restaurant is on the huge lake and it’s floating. Not exactly floating la, but looks like it’s floating. hahahaNot sure what is this, maybe for baby to take a nap.Oh yes!! You can feed the fishes there and they sell it about RM5 for 1 container like this. You can pay at the counter. Before heading to home, I take a glance of the restaurant. Beautiful, absolutely stunning 😍 ❤️
So…will come back to the restaurant??
Absolutely yes!! I will definitely come again and enjoy the food and view here. Insya Allah.
When talking about minimalism, it’s not only about your space. It’s about lifestyle, including your space, your financial goals, your relationship. It’s about how you let go of those unnecessary and keep the mandatory that always be your goal. It’s about setting up your life goals. Minimalist have various definitions towards each of people, but for me it’s lifestyle and life goals.
I’ve started being a minimalist since 2018, to be honest the most hardly to do is to minimalist my wardrobe and cables. I’ve decluttered my space, decluttered my relationship, decluttered my circle friendship, minimizing my expenses and maximizing investment and saving. I really enjoyed the journey.
Today, I’m about to minimize my “bad debt” and transferring it to a good debt. The only “bad debt” I have now is my credit card which I’m fighting for quite so long. Today, I’m about to refinance my 1st home, and clearing all my credit card and have some cash in hand for me to build my positive cashflow – Debit Card.
Waiting in a line, my turn!! 😃
There is a lot of impact and consequences I’ve checked and put into consideration, like how much difference I need to bare, and what about insurance, how many years the new insurance will cover, is it enough until I’m at least by the age of 60/70? I’m not dare to take fewer years of insurance, so the original insurance was to cover 35 years, I’m checking for 30 years for the new insurance. Oh, by the way, the most important thing is the property has tenants and the cost can cover my whole bank now plus some little extra. By calculating everything, I saved monthly RM 1.2k!! Wee!!! Plus, my credit card settled and I have some cash in hand. So, I’m now need to think carefully what I shall do with the little money I have in hand.
Next, my target is to manage a debit card for replacing a credit card. Yay!! I was so happy as I’ve found the solution to declutter bad debt. After I’m done building positive cashf. Next, xt I’m gonna think a way on how to set goal for my retirement day!! Hey!! It’s not too earl to think about when you are nearly , okay? Nay or Yay!! 😃
